National Aviary

Travel a world of birds at the National Aviary! Visit and get up-close to more than 500 vibrant birds in naturalistic, free-flight habitats. The National Aviary is America's only nationally-designated indoor, non-profit zoo dedicated to birds.  Located in Allegheny Commons Park in Pittsburgh’s historic North Side, the National Aviary’s large walk-through habitats crated an experience unlike any other – an intimate, up close experience between visitors and free-flying birds. The Aviary brings guests face-to-face with birds from all over the world, allowing visitors to take in the amazing beauty of our feathered friends. Watch as they eat, bathe, fly, and play, and get even closer during an Animal Encounter. Become immersed in the music of songbirds, marvel at the nobility of eagles, be amazing by the wingspan of an Andean Condor, and chuckle at the waddle of a penguin!
